Show producer Christina Wayne and stars Tom Weston-Jones and Franka Potente tell THR what to expect from the network’s first scripted series, set to premiere on August 19th.

Wondering what your great, great grandparents were up to at the turn of the century? Copper will premiere on BBC America on Sunday August 19th at 9 PM. The show about Irish-American immigrants in New York City from Oz and Borgia showrunner-writer-producer Tom Fontana and Cineflix will be BBC America’s first original scripted series.

“We’re going head on into the competition,” the show’s executive producer, Cineflix’ Christina Wayne told The Hollywood Reporter of the highly competitive Sunday time slot, adding that the timing was calculated. “The thinking was to get ahead of the new fall shows. The window is good for platforming a new show.”

While at AMC, Wayne was behind global hit Mad Men — also a nostalgic romp through New York. “I never think about wanting to follow a trend. It’s a world in which characters can live and with whom people are interested in spending time with week after week,” Wayne said, adding: “Audiences want to watch shows about great shows and great stories. Nobody cares what era a show is set in.”

BBC America announced details of its original scripted series Wednesday. “Coppers,” a historical crime drama, is set in 1860s New York City’s crime-ridden Five Points neighborhood, notorious from “Gangs of New York.”

Tom Weston-Jones of “MI-5″ will star as an Irish-immigrant cop in the aftermath of the Civil War. He’s trying to keep the peace in Five Points as well as search for information about the disappearance of his wife and the death of his daughter. Also in the cast are Anastasia Griffith (“Royal Pains,” “Damages”) and Franka Potente (“The Bourne Supremacy,” “Run Lola Run”) as a madam.

Scheduled to premiere on BBC America in summer 2012, “Copper” was created by Tom Fontana, whose pedigree includes “Oz” and “Homicide,” and Will Rokos (“Monster’s Ball,” “Southland”). Co-executive producers include Fontana, Rokos, Barry Levinson (“Rain Man,” “You Don’t Know Jack”) and Christina Wayne of Cineflix Studios (executive in charge of Mad Men” at AMC).

Anastasia’s first episode of Once Upon a Time aired on abc last night. Anastasia did a great job as Prince Charming’s slighty spoiled finacé and coma patient John Doe’s concerned wife. She won’t be in next week’s episode but the one after that. Screen caps have been added to the gallery.

As you can see Anastasia Griffith Online is dressed in fancy new clothes. Yes, that’s right we have a new layout. The beautiful header was designed by Nicole of NowehereLand9 Design. She did a fantastic job so if anyone out there is looking for a web designer I suggest you look no further. The coding is a WordPress theme by everything-design.net And the images used you might recognize as the ones from Debacle Magazine. I am very happy with the new layout and I hope you are too.

Anastasia will make her first appearance on abc’s Once Upon a Time this Sunday. Don’t forget to catch the episode at 8/7c.

Yesterday, Anastasia attended the 9th Annual BAFTA Los Angeles Tea Party. The event is a celebration of British Acting talent. Anastasia looked absolutely stunning on the red carpet, where she was joined by her actor brother Jamie Bamber. Images of the event have been added to the gallery, unfortunately, some of them have watermarks.

Anastasia has joined the cast of ABC’s upcoming fall TV show Once Upon A Time. The fairytale drama was created by Lost executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis and is described as a bold new imagining of the world, where fairy tales and the modern-day are about to collide. The show’s cast includes Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin and Robert Carlyle. Anastasia has signed on to play “spoiled” and “regal” Annette. It’s a recurring role but so far nothing more is known about her storyline. If you would like more information on Once Upon A Time you can visit the show’s official website where you will find video sneak peeks and publicity stills. A detailed description of the show is quoted below.

And they all lived happily ever after – or so everyone was led to believe. Emma Swan knows how to take care of herself. She’s a 28-year-old bail bonds collector who’s been on her own ever since she was abandoned as a baby. But when the son she gave up years ago finds her, everything starts to change. Henry is now 10 years old and in desperate need of Emma’s help. He believes that Emma actually comes from an alternate world and is Snow White and Prince Charming’s missing daughter. According to his book of fairytales, they sent her away to protect her from the Evil Queen’s curse, which trapped the fairytale world forever, frozen in time, and brought them into our modern world. Of course Emma doesn’t believe a word, but when she brings Henry back to Storybrooke, she finds herself drawn to this unusual boy and his strange New England town. Concerned for Henry, she decides to stay for a while, but she soon suspects that Storybrooke is more than it seems. It’s a place where magic has been forgotten, but is still powerfully close… where fairytale characters are alive, even though they don’t remember who they once were. The epic battle for the future of all worlds is beginning, but for good to win, Emma will have to accept her destiny and fight like hell.
