The St. Louis Review recently did an interview with Anastasia to promote the return of Trauma to NBC’s evening schedule. The usual questions about how and why she became an actress and what working in television/ movies is like but it is still a nice read. Here is what she said about Trauma:

K: Is there anything new and exciting that you can tell us about the show?
A: I think I have already touched on that, because for me the more character based nature of the second half of the season IS what is new and exciting! I have loved watching everyone dive in deep and pull out some awesome, truthful, funny, moving performances that take you right to the heart of who these people are. And they are GREAT characters, especially now they are truly 3D! But yeah, we have plenty of twists, turns and discoveries to come. And that is not even mentioning Rabbit and Nancy’s will they won’t they scenario! Hmmmmmm…..

You can find them here. NBC has finally released a description for the upcoming Trauma episode Tunnel Vision (March 8).

Nancy (Anastasia Griffith) must face one of her greatest phobias while treating a construction worker trapped underground after falling down a manhole. Meanwhile, Rabbit (Cliff Curtis) and Marisa (Aimee Garcia) are on the scene of a bank robbery to treat the injured. Elsewhere, Boone (Derek Luke) has a new position and his first decision may jeopardize the career of one of his own.

Three new sets of “Damages” season one DVD captures have been added to the gallery. Screen captures of the extras (Anastasia was featured for about a minute) complete all there is to add of season one.
Trauma returns Monday March 8. Yay. Just three more weeks to go. No previews, sneak peaks, trailers or stills as of yet but I am sure NBC will give us something as the date draws near. In the meantime you can show your support for the show by taking part in any/all of the campaigns started by the lovely people over at Traumatics.

I have just added screen captures of a documentary Anastasia was part of in 2006 to the gallery. Watching the whole thing was rather strange. The British channel SKY produced three 40 minute documentary’s. The whole series is called “Super fakes”. The one Anastasia is in is called: “The Woman Who Cried Rape”.

The episode starts with hard facts: It is estimated that 130,000 women are raped in the UK every year. False rape cases are very rare. Last year, only nine women were charged for making false rape allegations. This film follows one of those rare cases.

The stoy of Merete Underwood is told. Unhappy in her marriage she decides to abandon her husband of two years and young son one evening. At the pub she tells her husband she is going to the bathroom one last time before leaving together but she takes her cigarettes and goes out for a smoke instead. Toby Underwood won’t see his wife for another sixteen hours.

Merete is a havy drinker, she’s disappeared before but when she’s still not home by five a.m. the next day Toby calls the police.
Meanwhile Merete has met a man in another bar and has gone home with him. Panicking when she realizes her disappearance has been reported to the local police Merete fabricates a story about being rushed into a car and being held in a B&B against her will where two men raped her.

With the police investigating her claims Merete’s story begins to fall apart. She is eventually charged with perverting the course of justice and wasting police time. Merete Underwood served half of her 12 month sentence in jail. She divorced her husband and returned to her native Norway.

The documentary features interview clips with the real life Merete Underwood as well as reconstructions of what she claims happened. In these reconstructions Anastasia plays Underwood.

Captures of Anastasia’s two episode guest-appearance on the British comedy show “The Worst Week Of My Life” have already been added to the gallery yesterday. Today I have added two video clips of Anastasia’s scenes.

She plays Cordelia an assistant to Howard’s boss Nicola. To cut budget costs Howard is supposed to fire his own assistant Eve and share Cordelia with Nicola. Cordelia, however, mistakes Howard’s clumsy attempts at conversation for sexual advances. Later Howard accidentally sends Cordelia a sexually explicit email originally intended for his wife Mel. Cordelia files a sexual harassment complaint against him. In the third episode Howard desperately tries to get her on the phone to explain the mix-up but Cordelia consistently ignores his phone calls prompting Howard to stop by her flat. A shocked Cordelia then accuses him of stalking her and unloads a can of pepper spray on Howard.

I am working on completing the gallery with as much images as possible. The latest additions are screen captures of Anastasia’s guest appearance on the British half hour comedy show “The Worst Week Of My Life”. The show ran for three seasons totaling 17 episodes. Anastasia appeared in two episodes of the show’s second season. 2×01 “Monday” and 2×03 “Wednesday”. Screen captures of both those episodes have been added to the gallery. And clips will be added soon.
